Profile -- Alice Haverford

Alice is a well-built woman of average appearance, which is marred by her missing right arm. Her appearance shows her athleticism to some degree, but of course her supernatural strength is far greater than any physique might display. While nothing of her true age is known her visage depicts a young woman of perhaps twenty or twenty-five. Her appearance betrays her English heritage, but beyond that my researches have had little success probing her lineage. Despite her martial ways, and in some contrast to the general character of the clan, Alice is a Ventrue.

[Julian -- The records from London have come in. Evidently in 1927, Miss Alice Haverford was the first Englishwoman to sail around the world alone. She appears in the social column occasionally between then and 1934, when she drops out of sight. Possibly that is when she was changed? -- E.]

It is known that Alice has been living as a vampire in London for at least the past fifty years. Despite the profusion of knowledge our society generally has about activities in England we know little of Alice's time there. It seems she spent most of her time in seclusion. None-the-less she was given, with Klaus von Brauer, the task of organizing the Camarilla's training camp for the assault on New York City. Given her equality of status with von Brauer, it would not be surprising if she were of similar rank to him, a respected ancilla perhaps. This is confirmed by the fact that she was given a domain of her own, though it is relatively small.

Alice is a study in contrasts. She seems to be a warrior. She was, as is referred to above, given the task of organizing the Catskills facility and led a group during the war. She has also been given the job of scourge, an adjunct to the sheriff and court executioner. None-the-less she seems to deplore taking life. When Jan has asked her to carry out his judgment she has displayed some anguish at having to perform this task, even when the crime of the guilty is clear. She has also held back when given the opportunity to catch the Gangrel renegades Stephen and Jamie. She has no personal ties with them so it seems her reluctance is mere squeamishness.

Alice's most notable possession is her two-handed sword. This blade is clearly antique, likely from the 15th or 16th centuries; a metallurgical analysis would be needed to determine the age more accurately. Despite its age it is clear that this weapon is fully functional. While Alice has never been observed using the blade, it seems that Alice used it to fight the Tzimisce Radu during the assault. It was here that Alice lost her arm as well as the blade, though the latter was returned to her by Jan. The subjects discovered a ring in Radu's haven that belonged to Alice. Presumably its place was on her right hand, though she now wears it about her neck. It was inscribed with the name "Caissus," but it is unclear who this individual is.
