Profile -- Oliver Blackwell
Blackwell appears to be a man of some advanced age, perhaps 50. He is a large man, rather tall and imposing in appearance. His hair has grayed from age. He is, without a doubt, of Norman ancestry with a certain nobility to his appearance.
The name Blackwell is not common in English society. It can, I believe, only refer to a minor family of 16th and 17th century nobles with land in the south east of England. This family would be of little note save for their support of Cromwell's regime and subsequent disinheritment by the crown. There are no known individuals with the given name "Oliver" from the house of Blackwell, but historical records are sorely lacking in the period of the Reformation.
Oliver has been living in Hartford, Connecticut for at least the past 60 years. He had significant status there, though he did not hold any official position. Oliver visited New York City from time to time before the Sabbat assault, and he continued his business connections there even during the occupation. In the past forty years, Oliver visited Boston frequently and seems to have developed business connections there as well.
The Blackwell business empire is nearly as varied as it is impressive. Oliver holds a majority share of stock in well over a hundred companies, though there are likely more that our researchers were unable to trace. These companies range from banks to light manufacturing to service professions, and they include businesses as well known as Yale Locks and Maytag. Additionally, there seem to be a number of companies that fall under his more direct control through Blackwell Industries, a corporation that seems to consist solely of Oliver and his favored servants. Oliver's income is impossible to estimate accurately without further information, but it seems likely that he earns more than $100 million each year.
Oliver enjoys the status of an elder. He has attended all meetings at the Battery, both public courts and private sessions. Additionally he has a very large grant of land on the eastern side of Manhattan. He has few known connections among the other vampires in the city. It is not known who his elder allies are, though it is known that the vampire Rudy Dambrose is associated with Blackwell.
