Walter,
I don't mind telling you that I have many reservation about this assignment. Although I cannot deny the things we've seen, I still find the idea that vampires are running the Seattle government more than a little ludicrous. And now you tell me they have influence on a national level as well? Please understand, I'm taking a lot on faith here, old friend.
One good thing about the national security issue however is that since I'm only reporting to you, I don't have to worry about becoming the laughing stock of the Agency. Instead I just get to fall off the face of the earth for a while, and most agents are used to that.
Honestly, Walter, had I not known you as long as I have and had there been any other explanation for the creatures we've seen, I would not be relocating my entire team to Seattle for an assignment that I can't even tell them about. So far, security on that note is intact, although everyone is asking a lot of questions and there rumors are flying. I may eventually have to tell them, at least Morris and Jenkins. Their clearance certainly warrants disclosure and I'm having a difficult time keeping them out of the loop. I'll at least wait until we're in Seattle and the project is underway before disclosing anything to them. Don't want them writing me up for a psych-evaluation before we even get there.
Well, the next report I send should be from the Base of Operations in Seattle. Until then, old friend.
